1. Sun Kong 275 Eastern ave Malden, MA 02148 (781) 388-9900 Visit Website
(for right now open till 8pm)
Back in March when we found out indoor dining was "canceled" for the foreseeable future, Phil and I were distraught. The one thing I could never get over was being unable to attend Sunday dim-sum with my mom and sisters. Sun Kong has been one of my favorites dim-sum restaurants North of Boston. Having dim-sum at home isn't quite the same as being in their beautiful dining room, but it helped keep Sunday dim-sum alive!
2. KiKi's Chinese food
127 Boston Street Salem, Ma 01970 (978)-744-3777 Visit Website
(open till 8pm/10:30pm Friday & Saturday)
Kikis is our guilty pleasure. We order takeout from here whenever we are craving Chinese food. The combination plates are fantastic. Portions are just perfect and pair well with a bottle of anything and an unwarranted night of Netflix binging.
948 Broadway, Saugus, MA 01906 (781)-233-0077 Visit Website
(open till 11pm)
A typical night the ends in Kowloon takeout usually starts with us disagreeing on whether to order Chinese food or sushi. Kowloon's does a beautiful job of Japanese and Cantonese style cuisine.
4. Caribee restaurant
80 Walnut St, Peabody, MA 01960 (978)-871-2193 Visit Website
(open till 8pm)
This restaurant is a gem. One of our favorite Dominican restaurants on the NorthShore. The food here is made ready to go; cafeteria styled takeout. Ordering delivery is an option. This spot is walking distance from where we live in Peabody, and we love that. Yes, the food is rich, and calorie-laden but its also delicious and warms the soul. Usually, our compromise is that we walk over when we order takeout partially to burn calories but, more importantly, because we feel like part of the neighborhood.
258 Rantoul St, Beverly, MA 01905 (978)-232-9009 Visit Website
(open till 10 pm)
I come here for the Peshawari Naan because I'm addicted, but the menu here is truly something special. I would describe the restaurant menu as traditional Indian cuisine, lots of protein options, Lamb, chicken, seafood, & even something for vegetarians.
500 Ocean Ave, Revere, MA 02151 781-629-1842 Visit Website
(Split hours but open till 11 pm)
This spot should be on the top of your list when craving a Tuna poke bowl, Lobster tail, or Scallop Ceviche at 10:00 pm. menu options include the Raw bar, pasta menu, or even specialty pizza menu. Higher-end, but if its late and a steak and cheese sub just won't cut it, Phil and I would highly recommend ordering take out from Dryft.
7. Kellys Roast Beef
410 Revere Beach Blvd, Revere, MA 02151 781-284-9129 Visit Website
(open till 1am)
Kellys is a staple for late-night Northshore dining. The menu is perfect, and the coke machine is one of Phil's favorite things. I don't think I've ever left this restaurant without ordering a clam chowder. Think about the last time you were at Kelly's. If it's been more than 30 days, you're doing yourself a disservice.
8. Buffalo Wild Wings
100 Independence Way Danvers, MA 01923 (978) 646-9464 Visit Website
(open till 10pm)
Not much needs to be said about BWW except don't count them out! So many wing variations. We love the BWW team in Danvers and have our order pretty much down. Have you tried the Birdie bundle?
9. Bill and Bobs Roast Beef
2 Central St Peabody, MA 01960 (978) 531-9605 Visit Website
(open till 1:30am)
There are three locations north of Boston. Take your pick. Their menu has all the usual suspects, but there's just something special about bills and bobs. Could be the killer roast beef arguably the best on the Northshore.
10. Kennedy Fried chicken
252 Western ave Lynn, MA 01904 (781) 598-4825 Visit Website
(open till 11pm)
There are two Kennedy Fried Chicken locations just in Lynn, and they are both excellent. Perfect for late-night guilty binges. This restaurant is a bit rough around the edges, but the chicken is juicy and crispy. Call to order takeout be sure to ask for duck sauce and hot sauce. Do your self a favor, and don't forget to order the shoestring french fries.
